Internet scamInternet scam

Unfortunately, in many cases buyers fall victim to online fraud. You should be very careful when shopping on the Internet, especially when buying valuable items such as cars or building machinery.

Criminals often create attractive websites. At first glance it is difficult to tell whether you are dealing with a “fake shop”. First of all you should check whether the website is accurately labelled with the seller’s contact details, privacy policy, RODO etc. Next, the data should be verified in CEIDG (Polish register of entrepreneurs) or KRS (Polish Company Register) and VIES. It is worth checking if the same company does not have two different websites and compare data from both websites.

Criminals like to use various invented certificates, warranties and other symbols on a website to create credibility.

A useful tool is Google Earth, which allows you to see what is actually at the address indicated.

These are just some of the ways to avoid an online scam.

If you are unsure of the security of the transaction you are making, it is best to contact a professional attorney.
